Wheelersburg Little League, from Wheelersburg, Ohio, captured the 2018 Little League Softball® World Series Championship by defeating Tunkhannock Little League, from Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, 3-0.
Both teams were strong in the circle on Wednesday, but Central was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over East on Wednesday. Kaya Hannon started the game for East and recorded 18 outs.
One bright spot for East was a single by Elaina Kulsicavage in the first inning.
AndiJo Howard pitched Central to victory. She allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Kaya took the loss for East. She allowed four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one.
Elaina led East with two hits in two at bats.
Central racked up four hits on the day. Haley Myers and Maddison Kotcamp each racked up multiple hits for Central. Central was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jaelin Thomas made the most plays with seven.
