2018 Little League Baseball World Series – August 16 – 26

Caribbean Stays Alive With 3-1 Win

Caribbean snagged a late lead and defeated Latin America 3-1 on Monday. The game was tied at one with Caribbean batting in the bottom of the fifth when Luis D. Rivera drew a walk, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Caribbean pitchers struck out 15, while Latin America pitchers sat down ten.

Latin America got on the board in the first inning when Luis Valdes drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Caribbean tied things up at one when Carlos De Jesus singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Roberto Joubert earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Caribbean. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out 14. John Lopez threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. John recorded the last out to earn the save for Caribbean.

Arod McKenzie took the loss for Latin America. He went four and a third innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out ten.

Luis D. started the game for Caribbean. He surrendered one run on one hit over two-thirds of an inning.

Carlos went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Caribbean in hits.

Adan Sanchez led Latin America with one hit in two at bats. Latin America was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Adan made the most plays with 12.
