From San Bernardino to Indiana to Bristol. From Warner Robins to Waco to Williamsport. Hundreds of thousands of fans come out to enjoy Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® tournament games and take in the action. As you sit in the stands at a Little League® Regional or World Series Complex this summer, here are some things that you need to know.
Sportsmanship Extends Off the Field
Little League International holds its teams to a high level of sportsmanship. That same standard applies to the fans. Taunting, booing, or displaying inappropriate behavior to any volunteers, umpires, players, teams, or other fans will not be tolerated.
Everyone Has A Seat
There is never an admission charge to watch a Little League Baseball or Softball tournament game, and most of the seating is first come, first serve, with a few areas of the stadiums reserved for the teams, volunteers, and special guests. The only games that tickets are required are for the Little League Baseball World Series Championship Weekend games, and that’s only for stadium seating. While those tickets are generally not available to the public, should any seats open up, those tickets are released at Will Call at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport. Teams competing in the Championship Games will get tickets for their fans.
Check What You Can and Can’t Bring In
For the safety and security of all fans, Little League International does prohibit certain items from its tournament locations. If you’re going to a tournament, you should familiarize yourself with what’s permitted and what’s not based on the games at the location you’re heading to.
Regardless of where you’re watching games, all Little League complexes are tobacco free, and all smoking, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, smokeless tobacco, and other tobacco products are prohibited. Little League also reserves the right to inspect bags, containers, etc., brought onto Little League property.
Solicitation on any Little League property is not permitted. Offenders will be promptly removed from the property and may be denied re-entry. No items of a commercial nature should be brought onsite with the intent to distribute. Such items may be confiscated. Little League reserves the right to remove from or deny access to Little League property any item, individual, or group whose actions are deemed inappropriate.
Know Where to Find Help
As you enjoy your time at the complex, familiarize yourself with the stadiums. All tournaments have access to first aid, emergency, and security services. Take note of where those are, and, if you see something, say something! Most complexes have a great assortment of concessions, souvenir stores, restrooms, lost-and-found, and other facilities to make your experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, we are only able to use our public-address systems and scoreboards for messaging about the games or emergencies, and no personal announcements can be made.
Be Ready to Be On Camera
Between ESPN, news media, and Little League International’s photographers and videographers, there are a lot of lenses at our tournaments. Promotional images, video, and audio may be captured during your visit to the Regional and World Series tournament games and entrance onto the Little League International property constitutes acceptance of and agreement with this policy without further authorization or compensation. Little League International routinely takes pictures and video for use by the news media and in its own marketing and communications efforts.
Let ESPN Do the Filming
We get it, this is a great experience, and you want to capture those memories and share those moments. While you’re encouraged to take pictures, recording video of any game action is prohibited and considered copyright infringement, punishable to the fullest extent under federal and state laws. So, sit back, enjoy the action, and let ESPN handle the filming. If we see you taking video, we’ll kindly ask you to refrain, and we appreciate your help.
