Each volunteer is issued a Tournament Volunteer Shirt. Volunteers shall wear either the current volunteer shirt or one from past tournaments. A Little League® shirt is also acceptable. Shorts, regardless of style, are permitted for volunteers. Open-toed shoes are NOT permitted if volunteering in the concession stand, team meals or on the grounds crew. A closed-toed shoe is required in these areas. No jewelry may be worn when working in the concession stand. All clothing must not be ragged or torn.

Any volunteer that works two games in a row or four straight hours is eligible for a meal. Each volunteer eligible for a meal will receive a digital meal ticket worth up to $6.00 for a one-time use from the Concession Stand.

Volunteer parking is available at the stadium with a 2023 parking pass. Space is first come, first serve and may be limited.

Each volunteer is issued a photo-ID badge and lanyard. The ID badge must be worn and visible at all times when volunteering. Only the 2023 badge shall be used. Any volunteer who loses their badge should email [email protected] for a new badge.

We provide water for use by volunteers throughout the tournament. Cold water is located outside on the right side of the maintenance shop (in the parking lot). We recommended you refill your bottle to prevent low inventory.

Teams participating in the Southeast Region Tournaments are state champions from the Region’s eight-states. The Softball Tournament features seven teams, with one team each from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Alabama does not have a softball rep. Starting in 2022, the North Carolina team will technically be the runner-up as the champion will be the host team at the World Series. The team will still be referred to as the champion. The Baseball Tournament features eight teams, with one team each from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Players on these teams are ages 10-13-year-olds. A team can have a max of 14 players. Most will have at least 12 players. A team’s coaching staff features one manager and two coaches. Softball teams are female players-only while baseball teams can be a mix of male and female players.

These teams are made up of players that participated within the league during the regular season and were selected by their league to this team. This tournament division is the Little League (Major) Division. There are 11 tournament divisions.

Each tournament will include eight volunteer umpires from throughout the Southeast Region. There will also be an umpire evaluator/supervisor and an additional volunteer from the Region’s Umpire Staff assisting with other related items.

Tournament play begins at the district level. District play typically contains between 6-10 teams. Some larger districts may have area play prior to district play. Only Florida, due its number of leagues, has sectional play after district play. For the other seven Region states, after district play is the State Tournament in which each district (sectional for Florida) champ competes for the title and a chance to compete in the Region Tournament. Region winners advance to their respective World Series tournament.

Both tournaments will be available on ESPN networks. Softball games 1-11 will be on ESPN+, an exclusive streaming service available through the ESPN app. Games 1-11 of the Baseball Tournament will be on ESPN+. The final softball game and the final three baseball games on ESPN or ESPN2.

Volunteer items will be distributed on Tuesday, July 18 at the in-person Volunteer Leadoff Event that will begin at 6 p.m. and then on Wednesday-Saturday during select times (TBD) for those unable to attend the Leadoff Event. Picking up items prior to the tournament is strongly recommended. We will work with volunteers who travel from out-of-town and may not be able to pick-up during the pick-up dates.

There is no designated area, but food cannot be consumed in the Concession Stand. Volunteers may sit in the stands, use the picnic tables on site or use the covered pavilion in right field. There is limited seating in the press box lobby area.

There is no requirement, however if you are a first-time tournament volunteer, you can visit the press box upon arrival for assistance.
