Dear Safety Officers:

I hope this letter find you and your loved ones healthy and safe. As information continues to become available regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, we strive to continue to provide you with guidance and support as you help to oversee the health and safety of your league’s members and community.  Here are some things we suggest you do while practicing social distancing:

  • Reach out to the families and volunteers in your league to see how they are doing. Send a short email and offer some ideas to keep their spirits up during this difficult time. Encourage them to play catch in the backyard or send a #LLPepTalk.
  • Submit your ASAP safety plan if you haven’t done so already. This is a good time to think about how you can enhance your league’s safety procedures. Plans must be submitted through the Little League® Data Center. Contact Christina Taddeo, at: [email protected] with your questions.
  • Talk to your Board of Directors about ways you can promote safety in your league. Hold a poster contest for the kids in your league as a way for them to think about safety issues.

While there are many tasks you can do to get ready to resume your league’s activities, we urge you to continue following the information available through the CDC and your local authorities.
