SUMMARY:Little League Umpire Outreach Clinic - Walkertown\, NC
DESCRIPTION:The Little League 1-Day Outreach Clinic will be led by members of the Little League Instructor Staff and seeks to help umpires of all experience levels learn the fundaments of umpiring Little League Baseball and Softball. Hands-on and engaging instruction will focus on The Role of the Little League Umpire\, the Basics of Working the Plate\, Field Mechanics\, and Working the 2-Umpire System and leverage on-field drills and simulations to introduce\, apply\, and reinforce the concepts presented. \nTraining materials and lunch will be provided with lunch for all attending umpires. However\, umpires will be responsible for all other travel arrangements\, including lodging\, breakfast\, and dinner\, if appropriate. It is suggested that umpires bring all umpire equipment and gear\, and umpires may dress as an umpire or wear clothing that allows them to move and participate freely in cage work\, drills\, and simulations accordingly. Umpires should also bring a glove with them to participate in all planned activities. \n**Note: Umpires under the age of 18 must be registered by their parent and/or legal guardian\, and the contact information provided must be that of the parent and/or legal guardian. \nAs a Little League Umpire\, all umpires are reminded to complete a background check on the Umpire Registry for $5.00 in addition to completing the Abuse Awareness Training via USA Baseball and SafeSport. Local leagues\, district\, and/or Little League Personnel may request umpires to provide a copy of the certificate indicating completion of this Abuse Awareness Training prior to participating. \nCompletion of the Abuse Awareness Training is free and can be done by following this link: https://usabdevelops.com/page/4824/education. DESCRIPTION:The Little League Umpire Academy is an extended umpire training event providing a comprehensive\, jam-packed\, hands-on\, and engaging study and application of the Little League Rules\, Plate Mechanics\, Base Mechanics\, and the fundamentals of Working the 2-Umpire System. This training event is open to umpires ages 18 and older. \nTraining materials and lunch will be provided for all attending umpires\, and umpires will be responsible for making their own lodging arrangements\, along with breakfast rrangement. \nAdditionally\, umpires are required to bring all umpire equipment and gear and are strongly urged to dress as an umpire during all sessions unless communicated otherwise by the training staff. Umpires should also bring a glove with them for cage work\, drills\, and simulations throughout the event. \nBecause of the potential for umpires to umpire live games during this training event\, all attending umpires will be required to complete a background check on the Umpire Registry for $5.00 in addition to completing the Abuse Awareness Training via USA Baseball and SafeSport.
