SUMMARY:Virtual Umpire Clinic - Wedge Theory Part II:  Tag Plays at the Bases
DESCRIPTION:The second virtual clinic on wedge theory will focus on using the mechanic for tag plays on the bases in multi-member crews. This clinic will begin with a review of the basic concepts and fundamentals presented in Wedge Theory Part I and introduce the importance of changing our pre-pitch starting position to for umpires working first\, second\, and third base in multi-member crews. Using video examples\, clinicians will break down wedge positioning at second base for the 60 foot\, 50-70\, and 90 foot diamonds\, focusing first on steal plays and back-picks\, then introducing the concepts of rimming and sliding rather than using the traditional pivot\, and finally\, using the wedge for tag plays at second base on throws from right field\, centerfield\, and left field. The clinic’s last segment will also use video examples to illustrate how to apply the wedge for tag plays at first base and third base\, including back-pick and steal plays\, ending with a Q & A opportunity for all participants. \nRegister for the Virtual Umpire Clinic

DESCRIPTION:Arizona State University vs. University of Washington \nSunday\, April 5th – Time TBD\nFarrington Softball Stadium \nOn Sunday\, April 5th\, the Arizona State University Softball team would like to invite you and your Little Leaguers® to attend its 6th annual “Little League Softball Day.” This event will be held at Farrington Softball Stadium in Tempe\, when the Sun Devils take on their Pac-12 Conference rivals\, the Washington Huskies. \nIn order to promote Little League Softball\, as well as the college softball experience\, Little League® Baseball and Softball has worked with various colleges and universities resulting in these institutions providing a “Little League Softball Day” at the collegiate level. It is on this day that young athletes of all ages will get to experience the game of softball at its finest.  They will have the complete game-day experience\, from the warm up to the game-ending play. \nTicket Information:\nThe Little League players\, coaches and family members may attend the games at the reduced rate of $11 general admission and $13 bleacher reserved seats (on advanced orders only and tickets are subject to increase as it gets closer to the game). \nTo order tickets\, click here and enter the code “LLRD” for discounted pricing. \n On Game Day: \n\nLittle League players are encouraged to wear their uniform shirt and should have their Little League Official patch sewn onto the left shoulder of their uniform shirt in order to be identified for admission.\nPre-Game Stadium Tour\nPre-Game On-Field Parade/Recognition\nPoster Creation Station\nNational Anthem Buddies (limited spots available)\n$1 Popcorn Day\nPost-Game Run the Bases\nAfter the game\, ASU Softball invite the Little League players to interact with a handful of college players\, where they can ask the Sun Devil players questions directly.
