DESCRIPTION:About Clinic\nDuring Umpire Mechanics Clinic 1.0\, attendees will receive instruction on the two-umpire system\, which includes field mechanics\, plate mechanics and game management principles. Attendees during the weekend will be able to gain skills and knowledge to enable the umpire to be proficient in the two-umpire system. \nUmpire Mechanics 1.0 is best suited for umpires who are new\, novice or need additional work in the two-umpire system or in general as an umpire. No prerequisites are needed to attend this clinic. \nThis clinic will be similar to the past Two-Umpire Mechanics Clinic\, with 1.0 replacing that former clinic. Those who previously attended a Two-Umpire Clinic\, who feel they have gained the necessary skills\, education and understanding\, do not need to attend Clinic 1.0 to consider attending 2.0\, however are still welcome to attend. \nSample Agenda Items\n\n\nPlate Mechanics\n\nProper Basic Stances\n\nBased on Little League philosophy\n\n\nStrike Zone\n\nCalling balls and strikes effectively\n\n\nBasic Responsibilities\n\nFair/Foul\nCatch/No Catch\nRotations/Everything else\nResponsibilities around the plate area\n\n\n\n\n\nBase Mechanics\n\nA\, B\, and C positions\n\nBasic angles and positioning for calls at all bases\nBasic rotations and responsibilities as the base umpire\nUnderstanding how to get in the working area\n\n\n\n\n\nBasic Umpire Conferences\n\nPre-Game Conference\nPlate Meeting\nPost-Game Conference\n\n\n\nCommunication with your partner\n\n\nManaging line-ups\n\n\nFeeling comfortable in your first game\, or in a new season\n\n\nRegistration & Price\nCLINIC REGISTRATION\n$50 (plus fees) per person. Umpires will need to possess a good to strong understanding and knowledge of Little League mechanics and rules in advance of the clinic.
