Pre and Post-Game Responsibilities

This segment is aimed specifically at those tasks and activities that should or must be carried out by umpires prior to the start of every game. The topics to be addressed include:

• Pre and post-game conferences that should be conducted between the umpires
• Methodology for pre-game inspection of players bats and equipment
• Proper way to conduct a succinct meeting with the managers
• The umpire’s uniform and protective equipment

This information will prove highly beneficial to the umpire with less than four years of experience.
