The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Equipment Grant – Closed

Thank you for your interest in The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Equipment Grant Program.

We received an incredibly enthusiastic response to the announcement of the program for the 2023 season, and we thank all Leagues Officers for taking the time to submit this request on behalf of the families in their league.

If your league is still facing hardships, we encourage you to look into these additional resources:

If selected, kits will be mailed to league officials in February 2023. Leagues will be responsible for distributing kits to the parents or guardians of the children with the greatest need in their program.

Frequently Asked Questions

The items in these kits were designed to be an essentials-only starter kit that will give deserving, underprivileged children the chance to play ball. The kit will include (specific to baseball or softball):

One pair of Batting Gloves
One Fielding Glove (Baseball or Softball, based on application request. Limited sizing ranges available)
One Baseball or Softball (based on application request)
One Cinch Bag

A letter addressed to the parent or guardian of the kit recipient will also be included.

All equipment kits should be distributed directly to the parent or guardian of the player selected. Kits will be shipped to the designated league official (you will be required to designate this individual in your application) and include all equipment items for the players as well as a letter addressed to the parent or guardian of the recipient.

We encourage you to be discreet when distributing these kits, so as not to single out families who may be experiencing financial hardships and to ensure that families who may also have equipment needs, but were not selected for this program, do not react negatively.

This program is designed to help ensure that parents have one less worry on their plate. By providing these full kits direct to parents/guardians and giving them the opportunity to then give the kits to their child, we hope to great a positive experience for both parents and players.
