Little League International Baseball and Softball is pleased to announce the hosting of a week-long Umpire School scheduled for April 7 - 12th, 2013 to kick off the 2013 season. It is a valuable role that the umpire plays in Little League. This school plays an exciting, decisive and challenging role vital to the success of every Little League organization. It's commitments are challenging, but the personal rewards are satisfying.

The week-long sessions will cover the rules, regulations and interpretations (Baseball and Softball); the mechanics of the two-man systems; the philosophy, mental approach and attitude toward Little League Baseball and Softball; the handling of situations and control of the game as well as three and four-man system discussions. The school is one of the essential phases of the overall Adult Leadership Training service, which has benefited thousand of volunteers.

We are pleased to extend a cordial invitation to all league volunteers to join our enthusiastic Little League Instructors in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on April 7 - 12th, 2013 for our Little League Umpire School. It will be held in the Dr. Creighton J. Hale International Grove Dining Hall, Recreation Room (2nd Floor).

The cost of the school is $235.00, which includes housing in Little League International Dormitories and three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). We will accept the first 45 to register. Each student attending the school will need to provide their own equipment including an umpire hat, indicator for balls and strikes, baseball glove, mask, and complete plate gear(if they have it).

We offer an enjoyable school that will afford each volunteer umpire the opportunity to become properly trained before the season starts. Please encourage othe umpires, coaches, and managers to attend. Should you have any questions, or need information regarding the school, please contact Cathy Lusk, Operations Administrative Assistant @ 570-326-1921, ext. 2248 or clusk@littleleague.org.
