Canada wins, teams in title game decided
Canada came into its third game at the Little League World Series with a 0-2 record. Mathmatically eliminated from making it to the International Championship game, Canada played for pride. And they certainly showed it.
Canada carried a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the sixth. After a lead-off walk and a strikeout, Europe's Andre Lewis hit a ground ball to second-baseman CG Morrison. Morrison fielded it cleanly and his only play was to first. Instead, Morrison threw to second and both runners were safe. A sad Morrison was immediately accosted by his teammates who told him it was "ok" and that "everything would be alright."
This act displayed by the Canadians showed their heart, pride, and unselfish characteristics. It is what Little League is all about. It also seemed more important than the game itself. Even though both teams were eliminated, they all came out winners.
Canada did come out on top 5-3 and finished the tournament with a 1-2 record. Europe is 0-2 and still has one game to play.

For Canada, Mike Saunders had a two-run homerun. Europe's Andre Lewis hit a lead-off homerun in the first.
With Europe's loss, the Far East and Latin America clinch spots in Thursday's International Championship game.
