Japan's at it again
For the second straight year, a team from Japan has dominated the international pool.
With Osaka, Japan's 5-2 win over Ranstein, Germany, they have almost guaranteed themselves a spot in Thursday's International Championship Game. Because of the pitching of Kazutoshi Adachi and a five-run rally in the fourth, Japan now has an undefeated record in pool play (2-0) with one game against Latin America to play.
"The best aspect of my game right now is my pitching," said Adachi through and interpreter. "Although my fastball was a little off today."
Europe opened its pool-play with the loss, but is by no means out of it yet. With two games remaining they have a shot of making it to the next round. "We have a real relaxed bunch of kids and I'm confident we can bounce back," said manager Jim Oliver.

For Europe, Andre Lewis was 1-3 with a run scored. Luther Robinson got the only other hit for Europe in the contest.
Japan's Adachi and Masato Ikeda each had two hits and scored once.
