Oral Health America’s National Spit Tobacco Education Program (NSTEP)
and Little League International are pleased to announce the 2008 NSTEP
Slogan Contest on the health consequences of using spit tobacco.
In 10 words or less, Little Leaguers should create an original slogan
that effectively describes the hazards of spit tobacco use. All Little
League Baseball and Softball players age 14 and under are eligible. All
entries must be received by July 2, 2008.
The National Spit Tobacco Education Program will award the winner a paid
trip for two for one night, including airfare, hotel accommodations and
ground transportation to the Little League Baseball World Series in
Williamsport, Pa. (Please note: The World Series begins August 17, 2008
and concludes August 26, 2008. The winner must be able to travel during
this period.)
The winner will receive a prize valued up to five $500 and the winner’s
league will receive $500 from the National Spit Tobacco Education
Program.

“Take a clue…Don’t do the chew!”
Williamsport, Pa (August 2006)– Jack Kirby, a Little Leaguer from Darien, Conn.,
understands that using spit tobacco is a losing game. His slogan,
“Take a clue…Don’t do the chew!” is the winner of Oral Health
America’s 2006 National Spit Tobacco Education Program (NSTEP)
Slogan Contest. Jack will be recognized during the 2006 Little
League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pa., Aug. 18-27.

Pennsylvania 9-Year-Old Wins NSTEP Slogan Contest
Williamsport, Pa. (August 2005) – Isaac Mastalski, a 9-year-old
Little Leaguer from Indiana, Pa., understands that spit tobacco is a
losing game. His slogan, “Use Spit Tobacco – You lose the game!” is
the winner of Oral Health America’s National Spit Tobacco Education
Program (OHA/NSTEP) and Little League’s annual slogan contest. Isaac
won an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2005 Little League World Series
that took place in August, where he was honored for his winning
slogan.
