Softball Days
In 2006, Little League International introduced the Softball Day initiative to help promote Little League Softball, the college softball experience and the game in general. It is on this day that softball players of all ages will get to experience the game at its finest, from warm up to game end. We also hope these events will create an on-going relationship between our colleges and our local Little Leagues.
“Northern Illinois University was so happy that we approached them about Little League Softball Days that they have agreed to let us host the 2010 Illinois State Junior All-Star Tournament at their facility. They have just undergone a $50K renovation and the field is immaculate. This should be a great experience for all involved." -Aaron Kelly, IL Dist. 13, Softball ADA
“Our Lightning Bolt minor team went last year and the girls had an awesome time with the Chico State ladies. They graciously signed team posters they gave to the Little Leaguers and just hung out with them before the game to talk softball. It instantly gave them a connection and they cheered their hearts out for their favorite players. My daughter still has her poster hanging in her room and can't wait for this year.” -Shawn Heyl (Little League Softball parent)
