- First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania Grants $300,000 to Little League Baseball from the Impact FundSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Feb. 6, 2013) – The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) is proud to grant $300,000 to Little League Baseball (Little League) through the Williamsport Lycoming Impact Fund. Since its creation in 2002, the Impact Fund has granted $1,225,000. The Fund was established to accumulate unrestricted funds for programs and projects with a high community impact.
- World of Little League: New Museum, New Name, New LookSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2013) – In a little more than four months, a “new” museum will open at the Little League International Complex. To go along with the $4 million renovation of the Little League Museum, the facility now has a new name and a new logo as well. Hours of operation will be expanded, and it will be open seven days a week.
- Little League Urban Initiative Announces Nine Jamboree EventsSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa., (Jan. 30, 2013) Since the Little League Urban Initiative decided to move its Jamboree concept from one national tournament to numerous state/regional tournaments in 2010, the initiative for boys and girls in urban neighborhoods has prospered. This year is no different with the addition of two jamborees and new venues.
- Challenger Division Teams Selected for Little League Baseball World Series Exhibition GameSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 24, 2013) - The two leagues that will be sending their Challenger Division programs to the 2013 Little League Baseball World Series have been selected. Representing more than 30,000 Challenger players and more than 900 leagues worldwide will be Illinois District 13 from the Chicago area, and California District 57 from the San Francisco area.
- New Little League Tee Ball Program Designed to Promote Activity, Fun and Fitness, While Teaching FundamentalsSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 18, 2013) – Children as young as four years of age are eligible to play Little League, beginning with Tee Ball. Little League International has created a new program for Tee Ball-age players (ages 4-6); and their parents or guardians, that is specifically designed to provide a foundation and introduction to baseball and softball that is grounded in fundamentals, fitness and having fun.
- Renovation to Lamade Stadium to Extend Stadium-Style Seats to Entire FacilitySOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 17, 2013) – At the 2013 Little League Baseball World Series, all the seats in Howard J. Lamade Stadium will have backs, matching those in the center section of the stadium, it was announced today at Little League International.
- Coaches Toolkit: A Valuable Resource For Little League Coaches and ManagersSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa., (Jan. 15, 2013) - The Little League Baseball and Softball Coaches Toolkit provides separate packages for baseball and softball, which include sport-specific training manuals, videos and other materials that will help both the novice and experienced coach.
- Little League International Mourns the Passing of Stan Musial and Earl WeaverSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 20, 2012) -- Little League International mourns the passing yesterday of two greats of the game: Stan Musial and Earl Weaver.
- Little League’s 2013 Rulebooks Now Available for PurchaseSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 9, 2013) - The 2013 Little League rulebooks have arrived and are available to purchase. As in previous years, the retail price for each of the three books (Baseball, Softball and Challenger Division) is $7 each.
- Big League Softball World Series Relocating to Sussex County, DelawareSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Dec. 21, 2012) – The Executive Committee of the Little League International Board of Directors has approved relocating the Big League Softball World Series tournament to Sussex County, Delaware.
- Alpenrose Stadium, Home of the Little League Softball World Series, to Receive National HonorSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Jan. 4, 2013) - Alpenrose Stadium has been selected as the 2012 Softball Field of the Year by the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA).
