Wilbert Wilson
By Communications Division Little League International mourns the passing of Wilbert Wilson, who was the longtime Maintenance Supervisor at Little League International until his retirement in 2001. Mr. Wilson’s, son, Patrick, has been employed at Little League International since 1993, and has been Vice President of Operations since November 2005. “Wilbert was one of the finest people you ever have the privilege of meeting,” Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little League Baseball and Softball, said. “The entire Little League family has lost a great friend. He was quick to smile, and always willing to lend a hand. “More than that, however, Wilbert was a devoted husband to his late wife Martha, and a dedicated father to his children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pat and the entire Wilson family at this difficult time.” Wilbert Wilson, born in Williamsport in 1934, was among the earliest players in the Little League program before it began expanding outside of the local area. He later served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve for 26 years. He also served on active duty as an Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. |
