Little League International Mourns the Passing of Maine District 6 Umpire Tony Pereira

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa., (Aug. 5, 2011) - Anthony Arthur “Tony” Pereira, a volunteer in Maine District 6, passed away on July 20. He was 46.

A native of Melrose, Mass., Mr. Pereira served as past President, Secretary, Player Agent, Division Director, and Communications Officer for Portland Bayside Little League, and volunteered as Maine District 6 Umpire.

Serving in the United States Army from 1987-1995, including two tours in Germany, Mr. Pereira was active in the several social organizations in the Portland, Maine, community.

Mr. Pereira is survived by his wife, Mary, and two sons.
