Little League Graduate Derek Jeter Hits 3,000

Little League International extends its congratulations to New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter on achieving one of the most significant milestones in baseball - his 3,000th hit as a Major Leaguer.

Mr. Jeter played at the Westwood Little League in Kalamazoo, Mich., where he first learned the fundamentals of baseball. His parents, Charles and Dorothy Jeter, were named the George and Barbara Bush Little League Parents of the Year Award in 2000.
