Thanks, Folks: Derek Jeter Credits Parents for Support, Success

Derek Jeter, Captain of the World Series Champion New York Yankees, was recently selected as the 2009 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. Mr. Jeter, a Little League graduate whose parents were selected as the 2000 Little League Parents of the Year, is the ninth Major League Baseball player to receive this honor since SI created the award in 1954. Other Little League graduates also earning this special recogition include Tom Seaver, Carl Yastrzemski, Cal Ripken, Jr., and Orel Hershiser.
