By Little League Communications Division "We wish Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden the very best as the new leaders of our nation,” Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little League International, said. “And we are proud that Sen. Biden will be the second Vice President to have played Little League. As always, Little League stands ready to assist the new administration in any appropriate way.” Growing up in Scranton on North Washington Street, a young Joseph Biden played in the Green Ridge Little League. He will be the second Little League graduate to occupy the second-highest office in the U.S. The first was Dan Quayle, who was elected Vice President in 1988. |
