International Tournament Tip of the Day – Tip 13Participation in Other Programs At the Little League (league-age 11-12) Baseball and Softball divisions and below, a player may participate in other youth baseball or softball programs prior to the first scheduled game involving that player’s tournament team. Once play begins for a tournament team, players named on that team’s tournament affidavit may not participate in any other youth baseball or softball programs until that team is eliminated from tournament play. This applies even if a player is added to the affidavit after the first game is played by the Little League Tournament team. For example: Team A plays its first District Tournament game on July 1. “Sam” was not named on the affidavit originally, and plays in one non-Little League game (in another organization, tournament, etc.) on July 2. Sam is not eligible to be added to Team A’s affidavit at any time. In Junior, Senior and Big League divisions, participation in other programs during the International Tournament is permitted.
