Adam Thompson Named Assistant Director Of Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Aug. 1, 2007) – Adam Thompson of South
Williamsport, Pa., has assumed the duties of assistant director and
curator of the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum, it was
announced today by Stephen D. Keener, president and chief executive
officer of Little Baseball and Softball.
As assistant director, Mr. Thompson is responsible for assisting the
director in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the museum, which
has about 30,000 visitors each year. Specifically, he will lead a
staff of part-time employees, and will assist in the maintenance of
artifacts and rotation of exhibits, help to coordinate special
events (guest speakers, receptions, news conferences, etc.), the
museum gift shop, museum business office, and museum educational
programs.
“Adam appreciates the significance of preserving Little League’s
legacy for the people of the greater Williamsport area, and the
thousands who visit our community each year,” Mr. Keener said. “With
Adam assuming a staff position, his experience and attention to the
role the museum plays in chronicling the history of the Little
League program will help maintain the museum as unique repository
for information, and fun-filled destination for visitors. We
congratulate him on this appointment.”
Mr. Thompson joined the museum staff on a part-time basis in 1999.
He assumed a full-time position in 2003.
A native of South Williamsport and graduate of South Williamsport
High School (1997), Mr. Thompson attained a bachelor’s degree in
journalism and mass communications from Lock Haven (Pa.) University
(2001).
