Trade Center, has been used as a staging area for the removal of rubble
since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. |
The
logo of Downtown Little League of Manhattan has been in use for many
years. It depicts the Manhattan skyline, including the Twin Towers of the
World Trade Center. The Little League’s fields are only a few blocks
from the World Trade Center, and most of the families in the league live
nearby. |

| One of the first events of Weekend in Williamsport was a clinic on hitting, provided by Scott Grove, who is the head coach of the Williamsport Area High School baseball team, and is the Camp Director of the Little League International Summer Camp. |
Saturday’s events at Little League Baseball International in Williamsport included a free picnic for all of the teams and their parents. Here, one of the teams from Downtown Little League lines up at the concession stand for the meal. |

The Recreation Hall at Dr. Creighton J. Hale International Grove is a center of activity during Summer Camps and the annual Little League Baseball World Series. Here, players from the Downtown Little League of Manhattan play ping-pong, watch television and play video games. |
| All 17 teams were fed and housed at International Grove, part of the Little League Baseball International Complex. The dormitories are used by teams in the annual Little League Baseball World Series, the Little League Summer Camp, and by other groups at times throughout the year. In this photo breakfast is served on Saturday. Breakfast usually consists of scrambled eggs, with pancakes, toast, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruit, milk and juice. |
