First Name is Drawn for World Series TicketsMs. Doran of Princeton, N.J., will receive four tickets to the Little League Baseball World Series World Championship Game, set for Aug. 24 at Howard J. Lamade Stadium, site of every World Series since 1959. She also will receive four World Series caps, t-shirts, trading pins, souvenir programs and museum admissions as a bonus for being the first participant selected.
Each year, those desiring tickets for the World Championship Game prepare a letter requesting up to four tickets for the final game. The letter must be received at Little League after Jan. 1, and by the close of business on Feb. 28 to be considered. Ms. Doran’s name was the first of 250 drawn from among more than 1,500 entries. Little
League Baseball will notify (by mail) those individuals selected to receive
tickets from the lottery process. Those whose entries are not chosen will
receive a postcard saying they may still attend the final game, watching from
the terraced hills beyond the outfield fence where tickets are not required.
While tickets for certain areas of the stadiums are required, they are not
required for other sections for most games.
The 2003 Little League Baseball World Series begins on Aug. 15. The schedule of game times and information on attending the World Series can be found at: http://www.littleleague.org/allabout/seriesgeneral.htm |
