2005 Big League Baseball World Series General Information

This will be the fifth consecutive year the Big League Baseball World Series has been played at the JB "Red" Owens Complex.

Lodging
Southern Wesleyan University will accommodate the managers, coaches, players and umpires. The university is about sixteen miles from the series site. For more information please call the specially-designated World Series telephone number (864) 644-6000.

Travel
Directions to the motel: Take I-85 to exit 40, head North on Highway 153 and travel 5.5 miles. The road will split, then you will head straight over the bridge, then circle right and go under the bridge. You will then be on Highway 123. Travel 2.2 miles (through four red lights) to the Comfort Inn on your left.

Directions from Comfort Inn to JB "Red" Owens Complex: Take a left out of motel, you heading north on Highway 153. Travel about one mile to Highway 8, exit to the right, then take a left and go under the overpass. Go about 1/4 mile, turn left right between Wal-Mart and CVS. The complex will be approximately one mile down on the left. The phone number for the complex is (864) 855-7933.

Refreshments/Food/Souvenirs
A wide variety of food and refreshments will be available at all games. Big League Baseball World Series souvenirs are very popular, and we will have plenty on hand during the games. There will be a special area set up for pin trading, which is always encouraged.

Miscellaneous
At this time, no television coverage of games is planned, although Little League International continues to urge networks to carry the games of all World Series tournaments. We do, however, expect extensive media coverage from newspapers, radio stations and television stations.

In keeping with Big League tradition, alcohol is prohibited in the JB "Red" Owens Complex. All blankets, chairs and personal items are to be removed daily.
