Little League Announces its 2005
Mom of the Year
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (July 26, 2005) – Alison Payne is the player agent for
more than 1,200 Little Leaguers and team mom for each of her daughter’s
teams in the York County Little League in Yorktown, Va. For her efforts
and commitment to the Little Leaguers in her local league, Mrs. Payne
has been selected as the 2005 Little League Mom of the Year.

Dorothy Foster Named Little
League Volunteer of the Year
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Aug. 9, 2005) – Dorothy Foster was the founding
“mother” of Lionsville (Pa.) Little League in 1970, and for the past 35
years has donated more than 70 hours per week to the local league, which
includes cutting the grass on the league’s seven-field complex three
times a week. For her years of dedicated service, Mrs. Foster will be
honored as Little League’s Volunteer of the Year during the 59th Little
League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pa., this August.

League Challenger Award

Award recognizes the loyal support of volunteers who help children with
disabilities enjoy the benefits of playing Little League. Jennifer Burns
of Edgewood, N.M., will receive the Little League Challenger Award when
she is honored this August at the 2005 Little League Baseball World
Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Little League Names Its 2005 Good
Sport of the Year
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (July 26, 2005) – The Little League Good Sport Award
annually recognizes a Little Leaguer who has demonstrated superior
qualities of sportsmanship, leadership, a commitment to teamwork and a
desire to excel. Dawson Fair of Elizabethton National Little League in
Elizabethton, Tenn., has exemplified all of those qualities and this
August at the 2005 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport,
Pa., he will be recognized with receipt of the Little League Good Sport
of the Year Award.
