Janice Ogurcak Named Director of Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum
As director, Mrs. Ogurcak is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the museum, which has about 30,000 visitors each year. Specifically, she will lead a staff of full- and part-time employees, and will be responsible for maintenance of artifacts, rotation of exhibits, special events (guest speakers, receptions, news conferences, etc.), the museum gift shop, museum business office, and museum educational programs. “Jan has lived in Williamsport for many years and appreciates the significance of preserving Little League’s legacy for the people of the greater Williamsport area, and the thousands who visit our community each year,” said Mr. Keener. “Having Jan on staff will help us continue the successes we’ve experienced with our museum, and we welcome her to the Little League family.” Mrs. Ogurcak was previously employed by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette. She joined the newspaper’s editorial staff in 1977 and since 1990 has served as Lifestyle Editor. Her work there involved coordinating the Lifestyle section, including page layout and staffing responsibilities. A native of Hershey, Pa., and graduate of Northern Lebanon High School (1973), Mrs. Ogurcak holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State University (1977). She resides in Williamsport with her husband, Richard, and has two adult children. |
