Teams Arrive for 60th Little League Baseball World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Aug. 15, 2006) – A plane carrying the Great
Lakes Region champions from Lemont (Ill.) Little League touched down
at the Williamsport Regional Airport at 12:10 p.m. on Monday. After
a short bus ride, the team was the first of 16 that is arriving over
two days at Little League International for the 60th Little League
Baseball World Series.
First on the agenda for every team was a look at Howard J. Lamade
Stadium from the upper bank beyond the left field fence. Then the
players checked into the dorms at Dr. Creighton J. Hale
International Grove where they will live for nearly two weeks during
the Series. After that, the first meal in the Dining Hall, then
practice schedules, uniform fittings, and team and individual
photos.
Each of the 16 teams from around the globe in the Little League
Baseball World Series is provided transportation to Williamsport and
back home at no charge. Teams also receive room and board for free
on the Little League International complex. No team or league pays
an entry fee of any kind for the Little League Baseball World
Series.
