Friendswood Little League in Texas to Host First Southwestern Region Challenger Jamboree

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Dec. 6, 2006) – Texas District 15 will host the inaugural “Southwestern Region Challenger Jamboree” April 13-15, 2007 at Renwick Park, home of the Friendswood (Texas) Little League.

Details about the Jamboree, including information on how your league can take part, can be found here.

In 1989, Little League launched its Challenger Division to provide boys and girls with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy and participate in the game of baseball. Disabled children from the ages of 5-18 are eligible to participate. Challenger baseball features “buddies” who help their partners by assisting the players when needed.

For more information on the Southwestern Region Challenger Jamboree, please contact Tom and Mandy Goodwin at (281) 585-9771; or Ferris Maness, Texas District 15 District Administrator at: (281) 489-9646. E-mail inquiries can be sent to swchallengerjamboree@earthlink.net.
