 | 2013 Little League Baseball® World Series Teams Paired with Team Hosts June 13, 2013 Every year, the focus of the 2013 Little League Baseball® World Series is placed squarely on the players from the 16 teams that come to South Williamsport, and it is up to the 32 team hosts, known as their uncles and aunts during the 10-day series, to make sure those players have a Little League® experience that lasts a lifetime. The 67th Little League Baseball World Series will be played Aug. 15-25.

On Wednesday, June 5, the Perth Metro Central Little League in Perth, Australia won the inaugural Australia Region Tournament in Queensland, Australia, earning its way to compete in the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.

More than 1,000 children with developmental and physical challenges from 59 teams are expected to participate in this year. The teams are coming to Norfolk from Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

Stotz hit upon an idea that would become the world’s largest and most respected organized youth sports program. The next year, on June 6, 1939, the first Little League game was played.  | Honda Donation Helps Preserve Baseball and Softball Season for Staten Island Little League March 30, 2013 Honda, the official vehicle sponsor of Little League® and national sponsor since 1996, donated $50,000 to the Staten Island Little League to help rebuild their baseball facilities, which were severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy. With Honda’s donation, storm ravaged fields, bleachers and dugouts will be repaired in time for the league’s 32-team opening day on April 20th.
