Little League - Things to Know

Each month, Little League® International is providing a quick look at important information and events for the month ahead. We invite you to review and share with your colleagues and friends. Another great resource for keeping up to date on Little League’s latest training and educational efforts is Little League University. Designed for volunteers, league and District Administrators, coaches, and parents, this free website is a wonderful portal for experiencing and learning about the Little League.

Important Reminders for Local League Operations

As we begin getting ready for the 2018 season, Little League has put together a list of things that local leagues should be considering this month, and some resources from Little League University to help guide the way. For these tips, as well as additional information, be sure to visit LittleLeagueU.org and continue to check out the Little League Bulletin Board in the Little League Notebook each month.

Little League Offers Continued Support of Youngest Divisions of Baseball and Softball

In an effort to continue supporting the youngest levels of the Little League program, Little League International will begin collecting additional team information through the Little League Data Center for the Minor Division, with local leagues chartering Minor Division-Coach Pitch/Machine Pitch and Minor Division-Player Pitch programs starting with the 2018 season. Through gathering additional team information within the Minor Divisions, Little League will have the ability to understand which local leagues are offering each of the respective programs, and provide specific resources and guidance to help those local leagues, volunteers, and coaches provide their Little Leaguers® with the best possible experience.

USA Baseball Launches USABat.com to Provide Answers for 2018 USABat Standard

With the implementation of the new USA Baseball Bat Standard quickly approaching on January 1, 2018, USA Baseball has launched a new website (USABat.com) that provides a detailed list of approved bats under the new standard, as well as some additional FAQs to help understand the change. Any additional questions regarding the USABat Standard can be sent to USABat@USABaseball.com.

D.A.s and A.D.A.s: Register Now for 2018 Little League International Congress

Registration through the Data Center is now open for the 27th Little League® International Congress at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, La. Held every four years, the Little League International Congress is the largest gathering of Little League volunteers, where delegates chart the course for the future of the organization. Volunteers gather to participate in large-scale discussions and voting on rules and regulations, take part in educational sessions, interact with exhibitors and fellow attendees, and experience local culture. District Administrators (D.A.) and Assistant District Administrators (A.D.A.) can learn everything they need to know about the 2018 Congress by visiting LittleLeague.org/Congress or by downloading the official Little League Congress app.
