Little League® International Hosts PLAY BALL Day
Little League Baseball and Softball will once again be teaming up with Major League Baseball for PLAY BALL Weekend on June 3-4, and is encouraging local Little League programs from around the world to join in on the opportunity by hosting their own events that weekend. PLAY BALL Weekend is a special celebration, by Major League Baseball and all 30 MLB Clubs, of the “PLAY BALL” initiative, which was launched by MLB and USA Baseball in 2015 as an effort to encourage youth participation in both formal and casual baseball and softball activities. Little League International will be hosting PLAY BALL Day on June 4 (Complex open 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sessions run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at the Little League International Complex in Williamsport. For more information, visit LittleLeague.org/PlayBallDay.
Little League Gets Ready for the Tournament Season

Important Reminders for Local League Operations
Here are some of the important things that your league should be considering this month, and some resources from Little League University to help guide the way. For these tips, as well as additional information, be sure to check out the Little League Bulletin Board each month.
- Final preparations for tournament season
- Secure your championship banners
- Understand how to use Little League Trademarks
- Nominate volunteers for Little League Awards
- Know the updated rules and regulations for tournament play
- Begin budgeting for 2018 insurance costs to avoid a lapse in coverage
Continue To Provide Regular Season Opportunities, Even During Tournament Action
While Tournament season is quickly approaching, local leagues do not have to finish their regular season activities all together. As the season comes to an end, local leagues are encouraged to plan for end-of-season special games and begin conversations among your members about potentials postseason opportunities like Second Season.
Little League Baseball® World Series Schedule Coming Soon!
Little League International will officially be announcing the 2017 Little League Baseball World Series schedule and match-ups on June 15, following its annual Little League Baseball World Series Luncheon, as a celebration of National Little League Week (held in the second full week of June). More details will be available following the luncheon on LittleLeague.org.
