Little League® International has officially announced Ashlea Nash as the Central Region Assistant Director, joining Central Region Director, Nina Johnson-Pitt, as the newest full-time member of Little League Baseball and Softball.

“Ashlea’s work and volunteer experience within the areas surrounding Indiana and Illinois has provided her with the tools and knowledge necessary to continue to develop our leagues throughout the Central Region,” said Dan Velte, Little League Senior Director of League Development and Regional Operations. “We are looking forward to the hard work and dedication that Ashlea and Nina will provide to all of our players and volunteers throughout the region.”

In her new role, Ms. Nash will assist Director, Nina Johnson-Pitt, with the operation of the region headquarters. Some of those duties will include working with leagues throughout the region to enhance operations, developing and implementing training programs and the operation of tournaments, including the annual Central Region Little League Softball Tournament and the Midwest and Great Lakes Little League Baseball Tournaments. The Central Region Headquarters serves 13 states (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin).

“I am extremely excited about this great opportunity to work with the Central Region staff, volunteers, and local leagues,” said Ms. Nash. “It is truly an honor to join Nina and represent Little League Baseball and Softball in the Central Region.”

A 2015 graduate of Indiana’s Manchester University with a degree in Sports Management and Communication Studies, where she was also a member of the softball team, Ms. Nash joins Little League after spending the last year working as a Marketing and Project Coordinator for Vision Event Management in Westfield, Ind. During her time there, Ms. Nash worked in the day-to-day marketing and event coordination, managed on-site volunteers and vendors during special events, and coordinated with marketing and sponsorship teams throughout the year.

Along with her experience working at Vision Event Management, Ms. Nash is very familiar working in the area covered by the Central Region as she has worked in both Indiana and Illinois throughout her professional career. Some of Ms. Nash’s additional job experience includes time spent at Indiana Sports Corp, Emmis Communications, the Chicago Bandits, and WISH TV.

In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Nash has served as a dedicated volunteer since graduating college, spending time working multiple event and media operations roles for events such as the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Diving, the NCAA Women’s Final Four, the Big Ten Football Championship, the P&G Gymnastics Championship, and the USA Diving Winter Nationals.
