Little League Softball® Coaches Clinics to be Held at Six Locations Throughout the United States

Softball 40 152

Little League Softball® coaches will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best softball instructors in the nation at Little League Softball Coaches Clinics with Michele Smith, Jen Schroeder and USA Elite Training. The clinics will occur at six locations throughout the United States starting on January 25.

The exclusive clinics are open to all Little League managers, coaches, parents and league officials. The clinics will include training tips, skills and drills in all areas of the game and one-on-one instruction from some of the leading trainers in softball. Participants are encouraged to bring bats and gloves for hands-on instruction opportunities.

Ms. Smith, a two-time Gold Medalist with the USA Softball team, will lead the first two Little League Softball Coaches Clinics. She will host a clinic on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Bossier City, La., with a registration fee of $30. She will then hold an event in Riverside, Ill., near Chicago, on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 2 to 6:30 p.m. The registration fee for the Riverside clinic is $20.

The next three Little League Softball Coaches Clinics will be hosted by Ms. Schroeder, a former catcher for the UCLA Bruins softball team and Little League Graduate. On Saturday, Feb. 1, Ms. Schroeder will be leading a clinic in Culver City, Calif., with a $25 registration fee. She will then be in Vancouver, Wash., on Saturday, Feb. 22, with a registration fee of $20 per coach or $150 per league. On Sunday, Feb. 23, the clinic will be held in Sammamish, Wash., and is free for all participants.

“Little League Softball Coaches Clinics provide a great opportunity for our volunteers to learn from some of the most accomplished softball players in the United States,” said Sara Thompson, Little League Director of Softball Development. “We’re happy to be working with such great instructors and excited for another great year of coaches clinics.”

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Little League Softball program, founded in 1974, and the 75th Anniversary of Little League, both of which will be celebrated at special events held throughout 2014. For more information on Little League’s Big Legacy visit LittleLeagueBigLegacy.com.
