Lynnwood Pacific LL from Washington and Bend North LL from Oregon traded the lead four times on Saturday, but Lynnwood Pacific LL ended up on top with a 6-3 win in six innings over Bend North, capturing the Northwest Region Championship Banner.

This is the second year in a row that team from the greater Seattle area is representing the Northwest Region in the Little League Baseball World Series. Last year, Eastlake LL from Sammamish, Wash., went 3-2 in the World Series. When Lynnwood Pacific takes the filed this year, they will be the 11th team from Washington to play in the Little League Baseball World Series.

Lynnwood Pacific managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. A two-run error scored Ben Grant and Tyler Durbin and gave the Washington State Champions the lead for good.

Durbin boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace Lynnwood Pacific. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fourth innings.

Ian Michael recorded the win for WashingtonL. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out nine, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Drew Steelhammer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.

The top of the first saw Lynnwood Pacific take an early lead, 2-0. A double by Durbin, scoring Colton Walsh started the inning off. Washington then tacked on more runs when Durbin scored on a fielder's choice.

It didn't take long for Bend North to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the first. Oregon scored on an RBI single by Steelhammer, a sacrifice fly by Logan Wehrman, and a passed ball.

The Northwest Region Champions will face the Great Lakes Region Champions on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m. at Lamade Stadium, airing on ESPN. Jackie Robinson West LL from Chicago won the Great Lakes Region Championship on Saturday, Aug. 9 in Indianapolis, Ind. All games at the Little League Baseball World Series will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, the Watch ESPN app or ABC.

The 68th Little League Baseball World Series begins on Thursday, Aug. 14 in South Williamsport, Pa., with the Championship Game scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 24, airing on ABC.
