South Dakota finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. A sacrifice fly by Mason Litz scored Matthew Hegre and gave Canyon Lake the lead for good.

Richey racked up five RBIs on three hits for Canyon Lake.

Hegre got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed one run over three innings. Hegre struck out four, walked one and gave up two hits.

Brandt Groskreutz lasted two innings on the rubber for NE-Kearney LL before the call to the bullpen. Groskreutz allowed four hits and five runs.
