It wasn't exactly a clutch homer or hard-hit double, but it still brought in a run.

Chitre Little League from Panama scored the game-winning run on a passed ball as they beat Kennett Square KAU Little League from Pennsylvania, 2-1, at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Maine, on Saturday, Aug. 17, for the 2013 Senior League Baseball World Series title.

Abel Frias scored the winning run in the top of the sixth inning as a part of a two-run inning. It ended up being all the scoring that Panama needed to secure the banner.

Panama, who represented the Latin American region, got its first run of the game when Edgardo Sandoval drove in Abel Gallardo just two batters before Frias scored.

It was four innings before either team was able to get on the board, but in the fourth inning, the team from Pennsylvania, representing the East region, broke open the game when Eric Takoushian knocked in Joseph Zirolli.

Panama captures the country's second Senior League Baseball World Series championship in Bangor, Maine.

However, in the final three innings, Latin America’s Javier Garcia allowed just three base runners and one hit. Garcia picked up the win, going the distance and surrendering just four hits. He walked one and recorded nine strikeouts.

Throughout the tournament, Garcia allowed just five hits and one run in 11 innings of work. He also struck out a team-high 16.

East’s Alex Pechin also went seven innings, striking out two.

Latin America finished the tournament playing three one-run games, and the win completed a clean sweep of the tournament, going 6-0.

Panama outscored its opponents 23-9 during the course of the tournament. It was the second loss for Kennett Square, who fell earlier in the tournament to Panama, 5-3. East finished the tournament 4-2, with both of their losses coming from the Latin America Region Champion.

Chitre Little League becomes the second team from Panama to win the Senior League Baseball World Series Championship.
