“We are very excited to provide this great opportunity for a day of fun and baseball for our Challenger Division players on Long Island,” said Anthony Chironno, Director of the Long Island Challenger Jamboree and the Lindenhurst American Little League Challenger Division. “It’s such an exciting end to a great season, and we could not have done it without the support of our great volunteers, our community, our sponsors and all our families.”
The Long Island Challenger Jamboree begins with registration at noon on Sunday, Oct. 13. Following an opening ceremony at 12:45 p.m., games will be played at Burns Park Complex. In addition to on-field excitement, players and volunteers will also enjoy food and entertainment, with a magic show at 3 p.m. for the Challenger athletes.
Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, the Little League Challenger Division® provides boys and girls with physical and developmental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, the opportunity to enjoy all that baseball has to offer. More than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide. This year, Little Leaguers will be able to participate in 13 Challenger Jamborees in 12 states.
