Little League International Mourns the Passing of Michael Thompson, Longtime Supporter of Little League in Tullahoma, Tenn.

Little League International mourns the recent passing of Michael Thompson, a longtime coach and supporter of the Little League in Tullahoma, Tenn. He was 45.

Mr. Thompson, who lived in Normandy, Tenn., coached various teams in the local league as well as tournament teams since 1998. In 2007, he was the coach of the Little League Division baseball team from Tullahoma American Little League that won the Tennessee State Championship advancing to the Southeastern Regional Tournament.

He also coached various area youth league football and soccer teams.

“Mike was the kind of guy who would do anything for Little League, or someone who needed help,” Aaron Miller, the Tennessee District 8 Little League Administrator, said. “We’re really going to miss him around here.”

Mr. Thompson was the owner of Mike Thompson Ford in Tullahoma and also volunteered his time with the Tullahoma Chamber of Commerce and the United Way.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Lori, seven children, one grandchild and one sister.
