Clearwater, (Fla.) Little League was the host for the third annual Florida Challenger Jamboree.

Welcoming Little Leaguers with physical and/or mental disabilities, the state-wide event had 350 players and countless ”buddies,” families and friends take part in the weekend-long Jamboree on May 5-6.

“The Florida Challenger Jamboree is one of several similar weekends sponsored by the Little League Challenger Division,” Sam Ranck, Director of the Little League Challenger Division, said.  “What is most important is the opportunity for local leagues with Challenger Divisions, to meet and share ideas, while giving the players a memorable experience.”

Games were played Saturday and Sunday, with most teams playing two games. This year’s Florida Jamboree featured two new Challenger Divisions that are in their first year of existence. In total, an additional 100 Challenger Division players were part of 2012 Jamboree.

The next Challenger Jamboree will be held May 11-13 in Norfolk, Va. This is the Worldwide Jamboree welcomes teams from throughout the United States and several other countries.

A complete list of upcoming Challenger Jamborees is available online, at: www.LittleLeagueChallenger.org and www.Facebook.com/LittleLeagueChallenger.
