Little League International mourns the passing of Dean Pierson, Indiana District 9 Administrator.

Mr. Pierson, 78, of Upland, Ind., was Indiana District 9 Administrator for 36 years. He started his service to Little League as a local league volunteer in 1966. According to Nina Johnson, Director of Little League’s Central Region in Indianapolis, “Dean was a fixture at the Central Region Tournament for many, many years. He was one of those great Little League volunteers who dedicated so much time and energy to making the program great for the kids in his community.”

A 1952 graduate of Hartford City (Ind.) High School, Mr. Pierson sold sporting goods to area schools and colleges while employed with Em-Roe Sporting Goods of Indianapolis. He retired earlier this year.

Mr. Pierson is survived by Joan, his wife of 58 years, two children, Deborah and Gregory; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Gale Pierson.
