ESPN has added more than half of the Little League Baseball World Series games to its schedule on ESPN 3D, it was announced by the cable television network. ESPN was the first to announce in the United States an exclusive 3D network in January 2010.

At least one game on each of the first eight days of the World Series will air on ESPN 3D and a total of 17 over the course of the 11-day event that will take place Aug. 18-28 in South Williamsport, Pa.

The games that will be televised on ESPN 3D also will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.

“The addition of more than half of the World Series games to the television schedule of ESPN 3D allows Little League Baseball and Softball to expand the number of people we can reach to promote the benefits of the Little League experience,” Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little League Baseball and Softball, said. “It is just another reason many think the Little League Baseball World Series is the best youth sporting event in the world.”

The Bristol, Conn., based cable network is in its fifth year of airing every game of the Little League Baseball World Series, and 2011 will mark the 23rd consecutive year they have aired at least one World Series game.
