DAVID Seeds Agrees to Be Official Seed of Little League Baseball and Softball

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (July 6, 2009) – Little League Baseball and Softball and DAVID Seeds have reached a three-year agreement that makes DAVID the Official Seed of Little League Baseball and Softball. 

“Seeds have a longstanding affiliation with baseball and softball,” Chris Sinta, DAVID’s Director of Sponsorship and Event Marketing, said. “By partnering with Little League, we’re introducing seeds to a younger consumer which gives us a great marketing platform to build brand loyalty.

“Through this sponsorship, we’ll connect with families,” Mr. Sinta said. “DAVID brings additional fun to Little League. Our seeds become something not only the kids enjoy, but that moms and dads connect with as well – they become brand ambassadors for seeds as a fun and safe addition to baseball.”

As the Official Seed of Little League Baseball and Softball, DAVID will have a presence at various Little League tournaments across the United States.

DAVID will unveil its sponsorship during the 2009 West and Northwest Region Tournaments in San Bernardino, Calif.; the Mid-Atlantic and New England Region Tournaments in Bristol, Conn.; and at the 63rd Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

“Our efforts are very grassroots, because we’re looking to connect with the players and their families at a very basic level – making DAVID a natural part of Little League and the community,” Leslie Lee, David Senior Brand Manager, said. “We’re excited to activate on this promotion and grow it into a completely integrated program over the next three years.”

DAVID seeds will also be available in Little League concession stands, with each seed purchase coming with a free, branded DAVID cup. Over the next three years, the brand will activate a full range of promotional activities. The marketing team also hopes to leverage the partnership for in-store opportunities at key retail accounts.
