California District 39 Administrator Richard Young Passes Away

Richard Young, California District 39 Administrator, passed away on June 31. He was 63.

A resident of Capitola, Calif., Mr. Young served as a Little League volunteer for 39 years, and was elected volunteer District Administrator in 2001, serving in that capacity until his passing. He received his five-year service pin at the 24th Little League International Congress in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Young was a professional in the molding industry.

During his years of volunteer service to the Little League program, Mr. Young was a regular-season manager for 33 years in Santa Cruz Little League, and served as the league’s Vice President for 28 years.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Jeanne; and two children.
