Longtime District Administrator Joan Bosinius Passes Away

Longtime District Administrator Joan Bosinius Passes Away


Little League International mourns the passing of Joan Bosinius, New York District 34 Administrator.

Mrs. Bosinius, 63, of Commack, N.Y., on Long Island, served as a District Administrator in the East U.S. Region for more than 17 years, having begun her tenure in 1991. She started her service to Little League as a volunteer in the Commack South Little League.

A Little League volunteer for nearly 30 years, Mrs. Bosinius was a manager and coach in Commack South Little League, and served as league president and an Assistant District Administrator before her election as District Administrator.

During her time as district administrator, Mrs. Bosinius also assumed the responsibilities of the New York Section 4 Coordinator, and was a prominent supporter of the Little League Challenger Division.

Mrs. Bosinius is survived by her husband, Bruce; son, Jonathan; and daughter, Jillian.

Viewings will be held at the Commack Abbey Funeral Home, 96 Commack Road, in Commack, N.Y., from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday; and 2-to-5 p.m., and 7-9 p.m., on Tuesday. Burial services will be held on Christmas Eve. Mrs. Bosinius is to be laid to rest in Calverton Cemetery in Commack.
