Ruben F. Glick Little League Center to Central Region Challenger Jamboree

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (April 2, 2007) – The Central Region Headquarters in Indianapolis, will host the “Central Region Challenger Jamboree” June 15-17, 2007 at the Ruben F. Glick Little League Center.

Details about the Jamboree, including information on how your league can take part, can be found here. The registration deadline is May 30, and a team does not have to have nine players on a roster to participate.

In 1989, Little League launched its Challenger Division to provide boys and girls with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy and participate in the game of baseball. Disabled children from the ages of 5-18 are eligible to participate. Challenger baseball features “buddies” who help their partners by assisting the players when needed.

For more information on the Central Region Challenger Jamboree, please contact Mike Legge, Central Region director, or Nina Johnson, assistant regional director at 317-897-6127. E-mail inquiries can be sent to: centralregion@littleleague.org.
