WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Hong Kong Disneyland was the site of the Jan.
21 meeting of District Administrators from around the Asia-Pacific
Region, as plans were laid for the 2007 season.
Hosted by B.H. Chow, Asia-Pacific Region director, with Patrick
Wilson (Little League International vice president of operations),
the meeting focused on the International Tournament.
It was decided that Hong Kong Disneyland will host the Asia-Pacific
Major Baseball Division Regional Tournament for the next four years.
Guam will be the site of the Junior, Senior, and Big League Baseball
Regional Tournaments in 2007. The Philippines will host all of the
softball division regional tournaments in 2007.
“The District Administrators of the Asia-Pacific Region are eagerly
anticipating the 2007 season,” Mr. Wilson said. “We expect more
participation this year in the region than ever before. The meeting
was well-attended and resulted in firm plans for the coming season.”
The Asia-Pacific Region is composed of the following countries:
China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand, Australia,
Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Indonesia, New
Zealand, and Philippines. In the Little League Baseball Division,
the national champion of Japan receives a berth in the Little League
Baseball World Series, with the balance of the countries in the
region playing off for another berth each year.
