Honda Helps Little League Baseball Suit Up for Success

TORRANCE, Calif., August 18, 2000 – Two deserving Los Angeles-area Little League Baseball teams were chosen to receive $7,000 worth of merchandise donated by American Honda, Little League Baseball announced today.

South L.A/Martin Luther King Little League and Northeast L.A. Little League received LLB World Series baseball supplies, T-shirts, hats, jerseys and soft-sided coolers. Each league was given the choice of either selling the merchandise to raise funds or distributing it among the players and their families.

"American Honda is proud to participate and help build Little League programs across the country," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda.

The announcement was made at the Little League headquarters in Williamsport, PA, and the presentations took place at the two Little League fields.

" Our league wholeheartedly appreciates the support from a national sponsor who happens to be in our own backyard," said Fred Thomas, president of the South L.A/Martin Luther King Little League. "With their help, the league continues to grow. We can’t wait for to the 2001 season to begin.
