|Little Leaguers: They grow up so fast...
You try to save all the memories you can. And when you finally capture on film the essence of being a kid playing a game, don’t you just want to share it?
Well, you can.
Each year, the Little League Photo Contest gathers entries and awards recognition to three photographers for their images depicting Little League Baseball and Softball. Winners have their photographs displayed in the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum, and are recognized in Little Leaguer, the full-color newsletter of Little League Baseball, Incorporated.
Winners from 2000 included Tammy Clarke of Chesterfield (Va.) Little League, who won first place for a close-up photo of her 10-year-old son, Benjamin. Second place went to George Moseley of Jefferson Little League in Lynchburg, Va. His winning photo shows 11-year-old Little Leaguer Matthew Tuggle swinging at a pitch. Third place was awarded to Andrea Olson of East Boise (Idaho) American Little League. Her photo portrays 9-year-old Little Leaguer Sammy Richter delivering a pitch.
Any local league or district volunteer is eligible to enter. An entry form that includes details on the contest, and a Model Release (required) are available by clicking on the links below.
Good luck and keep the memories coming!
